The World

The World

We design because the world we live in is complex, interconnected, and under pressure. Socially, technologically, ecologically, economically. Design cannot solve everything, but it always takes a position.

WDTW is rooted in the belief that education, research, and practice should engage with real contexts and real consequences. The world we refer to is not abstract or distant: it is the world students will work in, shape, and be shaped by. Local and global. Physical and digital. Human and systemic.

By bringing work into the open, WDTW creates space to ask difficult questions:

  • What kind of world are we contributing to?
  • What roles do designers play, and which should they refuse?
  • How can design create positive impact?
